Endeavour Fest | October 11-13 2013

The California Science Center is commemorating the one-year anniversary of Endeavour’s arrival at its Samuel Oschin Pavilion with a celebration to thank everyone who joined in supporting the shuttle’s historic journey. Come see Space Shuttle Endeavour up close. Graphic displays surrounding the orbiter discuss its thundering ascent into orbit, its high-speed runway landing, the functions of key components – including its thermal protection system, orbital maneuvering system, and main engines — and reveal the science and technology behind one of the most advance transportation systems ever created.

Endeavour Fest kicks off Friday October 11, 2013 and goes through Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 10am-5pm. At the free, three-day festival, NASA will present over a dozen exhibits, displays and educational demonstrations illustrating aeronautics, research missions and ongoing space exploration programs for humans, robots and satellites. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and hear astronauts speaking about their experiences in space and learn about future plans for Endeavour’s new permanent home in the Science Center’s Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center.
