OCHackerz Hardware/Software Hackathon using Arduino arLCD

OCHackerz held a hardware/software hackathon weekend event of fun and learning with the goal of creating a startup product at the Eureka Building in Irvine, Ca. Anil Pattni founder of OCHackerz spoke with QGITS to talk about who can participate and get involved in a hackathon and what the event all entails. He explains,”Orange County has many medical device companies and hardware companies and that I wanted OCHackerz to be the first (and ONLY) hackathon that promoted a product that was innovative, cutting edge and groundbreaking in addition it was born in Orange County. OC Hackerz is a community for technical and non technical as we need an assortment of expertise in order to complete a product that can be brought to market for successful execution. Everyone gains something different depending on their level of participation. They may learn a new skill, develop a new relationship or completely start a new company product or service over a weekend.” Check out video of day one of team building, creating new ideas and preparing for presentations at the OCHackerz hackathon event:

Jacob Christ founder of Pontech also supported the hackathon. Pontech specializes in embedded software, electronics, and controllers.

1st prize winning team called Grindz giving some high fives. Grindz won for creating most innovative idea using the Arduino arLCD touchscreen LCD to automate your coffee controls. They took away with awesome prizes from @SpaceX, @Xpa|_Power, @FactoryEnova, and more!
